At the heart of our cruising ground is Venice, just six hours from our base at Casier, and arguably the most beautiful city in the world. Steeped in history, art and omance you cannot fail to be seduced by this land of la dolce vita. Visit St. Mark’s Square and cathedral crowned by the incredible Basilica di San Marco, its interior totally covered by golden mosaics.
Admire the magnificent Doge’s Palace, Accademia Bridge as well as sumptuous palaces, churches, art galleries, museums and imposing town-houses bearing testimony to their former Byzantine, Gothic, Roman Classical and late Renaissance influences. Hold hands as you cross the famous Rialto bridge or hire a gondola on the Grand Canal for a truly authentic Venetian experience.
This 3-day round trip, starting at our base in Casier, is an ideal short break. The Po Delta is a three hour cruise to the south of Venice and served by our base at Porto Levante. This vast nature reserve offers peaceful cruising and beautiful scenery; bring your binoculars to spot pink flamingos, herons and snipe. The area is also of archaeological importance, holding testimony to Greek and Roman civilisations.
Starting at the east end of Venice, cruise the beautiful Canale di Bari and finish in the busy small port of Cavallino. Take advantage of the many opportunities to admire the beautiful natural surroundings and wildlife en route. The round trip back back to Venice can then either be made using the Canale di Bari again or down the Canale Pordelio to Treporti.
Spend your time cruising the classic Venetian islands of the Northern Lagoon - Murano, Burano and Torcello, as well as the wonderful waterways city of Venice. Some of the oldest settlements of the Venetian lagoon are to be found on its northern islands where centuries-old traditions of lace-making and glass blowing can still be seen today.
Cruise the Riviera del Brenta through beautiful countryside and visit the city of Padova. Impressive Venetian summer villas of the Italian gentry line your route. Visit Villa Foscari and Villa Pisani - two of Venice's great historical cities. Cruise to the historic town centre with its busy market squares and rich art treasures.
From Porto Levante enjoy the beautiful surroundings and amazing wildlife of the Po Delta national park. Cruise to enchanting Chioggia and barter at the famous fish market before heading into Venice for some art, culture and romance. Enjoy the traditional customs and cultures of Murano, Burano and Torcello and the lush green landscapes and sandy beaches that line your route to Casier. This is a one week one way cruise and can be started in either direction.
From Porto Levante enjoy the beautiful surroundings and amazing wildlife of the Po Delta national park. Further afield you can admire splendid examples of Palladian architecture along the River Brenta to the heart of the historic city of Padua or follow the graceful River Sile to the ‘water city’ of Treviso..
